Beet Juice for the liver
Beet juice is awesome for the liver it is a natural detoxifier. The liver is a huge filter for our bodies and removing the toxins from our bodies. In today’s world we are exposed to so many toxins that our livers are so overtaxed. It is important to feed body nutritious foods that will not only help support the liver but also help with the detoxification process.
Beets are filled with many beneficial vitamins and minerals such as calcium, iron and b vitamins. These are all vital nutrients in the detoxification process. This is why food choice is so important too the more toxic your choices the more toxins your body will try to detox. It is a vicious cycle. I have a great beet juice recipe for you below.
Francine Brown’s Healthy Beet Juice Recipe
6 celery stalks
1-inch piece of ginger
Juice of 1 lemon
Juice all of the ingredients through a juicer, and add a dash of cinnamon, ginger or cayenne to enhance digestion. This is also known as warming digestion.
Here are a few reminders:
- Recipe make 1-2 servings.
- Recipe must be made in a juicer unless you are using a high-speed blender like Vitamix or Blendtec. If using a high-speed blender, use a cheesecloth to strain the juice.
- If you have thyroid issues or sensitivity to foods that contain goitrogens, any of the greens can be substituted with parsley or lettuce. You can also lightly steam the dark leafy greens before using (applicable for both juices and smoothies).
